8 Lala's Raglan Dress KCWC pt.4

Sorry folks, work kinda though me off a day and so I'm back with my KCWC piece #4.
This wasn't on my list, but as I was going through my stash, I came across this ol' fabric I bought a little over a year ago in the LA Fabric District. At the time I had bought it for the KCWC spring of 2011 (I believe) and my first attempt with this fabric was an epic fail. It wasn't the fabric, but the pattern I used. Perhaps it was due to Lala's cranium that the neck opening wasn't big enough or sleep deprivation caused me to not process the instructions, WHATEVER the case may be...
I failed.
A dud.
Poop.
Grumbling a few unfavorable words I tossed the fabric onto my heaping pile of used fabrics never to be seen again, at least until now.
This time, I used Jess' raglan tee tutorial, which btw is one of my favorite patterns. I've used this several times and every time Lala's tees came out perfect.
The only thing I did differently is I did a little gathering along the front of the neckline, extended the length and did some gathering along the sides. Oh yah, I also made it loose rather than fitted.
So by the time Lala finished her breakfast, watched Yo Gabba Gabba and enjoyed some riffs from Vince Guaraldi, I had the dress done and for her to wear for the rest of the day. *woot-woot*
No cookies today. I just had Lily Moon dance hysterically while I took some shots (pics not drinks... too early).
Well today (Friday) is a special for us... we're going on our annual pumpkin hunt and apple pie gorging in Julian.
Mmmm...

13 Lala's Lucy Top KCWC pt3

Here's yet another great pattern I found, the Lucy Top by Shwin Designs. Why is it so great you say? Well...
1. It's reversible.
2. Hidden pockets.
3. Easy and quick to make.
4. Gosh, just look at it. Need I say more?
You can grab your own pattern HERE. While you're there look around! They have some pretty fabulous patterns.
Today was a so-so kinda day for pics. I had to bribe the kid with cookies to let me snap a few. Sheesh! Models.
Oh yah... AND she insisted on having Yo Gabba Gabba on to help her perform for the camera. You work it girl! Uh-huh, you make holding a cookie look goooood.
HA!
Cracks me up.

24 Lala & Lily Moon's Accessories, KCWC pt2

I've seen this in many forms and I think it's just stinkin' cute and it's a smart design. You got your hoodie and scarf all in one, AND it has pockets at the ends of the scarf to keep your paws hands warm. I created my own pattern which was quite easy, really.
I used flannel fabric for the outside and scarf and Oh Deer! by Momo for Moda for the lining.
Hey, I just realized something... you could even make this reversible! Oh yah!
Lily Moon's pretty stoked.
Of course I couldn't make one...
TAH-DAH!!!
I had to make another one, but this one I modified the little hat and scarflette for Lala. Again, I created my own pattern and I am very happy.
I used the Heather Ross Far Far Away series fabric and the linen cotton blend is just yummy. I had originally intended to use this fabric for a capelette, but I think I'll get much more use out this one instead. Plus, I can use the extra fabric to make another one!
Hmmm... maybe for the shop? What do you think?
Okay... this is a rarity. To get her to stand still and pose for me, especially when her "man" (aka, Dadddy) isn't around is a treat. She is Daddy's girl 100%. When he's around, forget about it! No one else matters.
*humph!*
Whatever.
I'll just savor the moments when he's not around. I'll sneak in my kisses then!

Y'wanna make one? Maybe two???

22 KCWC fall 2012 pt.1

It's that time of the year again folks!
Twice a year, Meg does a fabulous job hosting one of the most fun challenges in the blogger-net. This fall, I decided to take a stab at making a coat for Lala and man-oh-man... can I just tell you how much I am in LOVE.
LOVE I tell ya!
L-O-V-E.

Pattern:

Outershell: Echino Forest fabric

Innershell: Flannel in oatmeal
Notions: 4 recycled buttons

The pattern is uber easy. I was amazed just how fast I whipped this baby up. My only complaint is that I wish it came in preteen-adult sizes.*boo!*

Lala was a trooper taking pics. Fall isn't quite here yet. She managed to wear the coat just long enough for me to take some snaps.
When fall does decide to get here, look out! With this jacket, some boots and a scarf... she'll be the cat's meow on our block!
Lala's coat?
Check!
One done on my list...
